Brisbane is the capital city of Queensland. The South Bank area is good for shopping and cafes. The West End is the bohemian district, with boutique hotels and arty shops. Fortitude Valley is great for shopping and has an excellent nightlife scene. New Farm is the trendy district, while Bretts Wharf is where the cruises stop. Brisbane, and Queensland as a whole, has excellent weather and climate.
Travel to Queensland:
Queensland has several tourism attractions that make excellent vacation possibilities. The Great Barrier Reef and Daintree National Park are both easily accessible from Queensland. The Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast are a major tourist base which is great for beaches and surfing vacations in Austrailia. There is also a popular zoo in Brisbane.
Popular places to visit include the South-East Queensland Outback, the Fraser Coast, the Sunshine Coast which is excellent for surfing, Brisbane which is the capital of the state, Capricornia, Heron Island, the Gold Coast, the Gulf Country, the idyllic Whitsunday Islands and the Cape York Peninsula.
The main cities that are good vacation destinations, providing ample oppurtunity for tours to include Bundaberg, Mackay, Thuringowa (recommended for tours), Toowoomba and Townsville.
Other places to visit in Queensland include Hamilton Island, which is part of the Whitsundays Islands, the Hinchinbrook Islands, Fraser Island, the Daintree National Park, Carnavaron National Park and the Bunya Mountains.
