New York & Times Square

New York City is the true hub of USA. In addition to fantastic shopping, entertainment and nightlife, the city has a host of monuments and attractions that enthrall visitors. The Empire state building (see photo on the right) used to be the worlds largest, but that crown has now been lost. The Statue of Liberty sums what New Yorkers stand for as it dominates the skyline of much of the city. But most visited of all of is, a little surprisingly, the centre, focal point of New York - Times Square.

New York in Style

So which are the best hotels in New York City? Hotel Elysée is a real getaway in downtown Manhatten - an old hotel that perfect for a romantic break. For something trendy, try the Gramercy Park Hotel. For more standard luxury hotels - all the major chains have a variety of options - just take your pick.

Getting There

New York City has a few airports, including JFK, La Guardia and Newark. There's cheap flights to Europe, and excellent connections to destinations elsewhere in USA.

The major monuments that attract visitors such as Times Square, the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State building can all easily be visited once in New York.

Travel Onwards

Head North to the Great Lakes, South to Florida or West to the Prairies, Rockies and cities on the West coast of California.
